Welcome to Chem 110 for this fall semester. We hope that you will find the course to be intellectually stimulating, challenging, and interesting.

Final Exam Answer Key is here:  See the link below to get the formula to calculate your final (summary score). Use the cutoffs in the syllabus to figure out your grade. Please do NOT e-mail to ask for +/- cutoffs. They will be posted here as soon as they are available.

How to calculate your Final (summary) score using your score report.
This also tells you what to do if there is an error on your score report.
The Fa 2007 grade cutoffs will be posted here when they are finalized.

The Supplemental Chapter 11 problems with the correct figure for 11.7 can be found here.

A grade calculator has just been posted. You can use this spreadsheet to estimate the grades you need to get on exam 3 and the final. Complete instructions for how to use the grad-u-lator are given here. If you have questions or problems ask for help in the Resource Room.

Final exam schedules are posted. The Chem 110 exam will be on Monday Dec. 17 at 10:10am. We will post  the room assignments on this web page under Exam Schedule. Please ignore the room listed in e-lion. Check e-lion for the time and dates of your other final exams.

The Exam 1 Answer Key has been posted. There was a mistake in the Key that was originally posted. The corrected answer key is given here.

The Handouts page has been updated: See Exam 1 Survival Skills for a bulleted list of things to know. A guide to the Practice Exams (which questions correspond to Exam 1 coverage) is not posted. Select Comments on the Handouts page to get this information.

The pertinent questions that you should study from the Tests in your Course Packet are listed here.

The bonus deadline for Basic Skill 3 (Electron Configurations) and Basic Skill 4 (Periodic trends) has been extended until Sun. Sept. 16 (midnight).

The bonus deadline for Basic Skill 1 (Simple Math) and Basic Skill 2 (Metric) has been extended until Sun. Sept. 9 (midnight). Due to maintenance, the tests will NOT be available on Sept. 5 and 6.

Please visit the book store and purchase the Chem 110 Student Packet as well as the required text book.  If the bookstore has run out, place an order at the service desk, and if necessary you can view the following materials on this Web site. You will need copies of these as soon as possible.

If you have taken High School Chemistry but it was not a recent experience and you feel you may need extra help in this course, consider taking Chem 108.
