WHAT NOT TO BRING TO THE EXAM

Do not bring scratch paper; a packet with a data sheet, periodic table and scratch paper will be provided.

Food and drink is not allowed. A water fountain is available.

Do not bring your programmable calculator or any other electronic devices (PDA, iPhone, cell phone, etc.)

Hats with a brim must be turned backwards or removed.

Because Chemistry 112 is a large course with little TA support, students are evaluated primarily on their performance on exams. Cheating on these exams obviously undermines our ability to evaluate students fairly.

Students who cheat on exams do both themselves and their fellow students a serious disservice. A "successful" cheater may get a higher grade in this course, but will miss out on basic knowledge needed in subsequent courses. Cheating can also have disastrous consequences, including possible expulsion from the University. The student who brought this crib sheet to Exam 1 last year is now facing charges of academic dishonesty.
