To do well in this class it is very important to have a good
studying strategy and to get immediate help when things
become confusing. There are many opportunities to get individualized assistance. Use
them!
- Organic Discussions
web forum (ANGEL) allows for posting and answering questions anonymously.
Questions are answered within hours (sometimes minutes) by other students,
TAs and the instructor. The instructor and TAs monitors the discussion to assure
that inaccurate statements are corrected.
- TA's office hours are available throughout the week. The
schedule is posted below. The TAs are specifically assigned to the course
and are experts in organic chemistry. Come prepared with questions.
- Tutorial Room (the Chemistry Resource Center) operates
during evening hours Sundays - Thursdays. Everyday there are tutors present
who are able to answer questions about Chem 210 material, but they are not specifically assigned to Chem 210.
- PSU
Learning regularly schedules Chem 210 study groups. For
details check
their website.
- Lecturers' office hours are held by appointment. When everything
else fails that is the place to seek help, or to discuss your progress in
Chem 210. Do not wait till it is too late and come prepared.
When requesting an appointment, please state the purpose of the meeting and
provide several alternative times when you are available.
